Alberta commercial insurance
Commercial Insurance Built Around Your Business
Trucking, contracting and commercial property are not variations on the same policy. Coverage is arranged around how your business actually operates — the units, the contracts, the site and the risk — by a broker who works commercial lines every day.
- Trucking, fleets and owner operators
- Contractors, trades and construction
- Commercial property and landlords
- Certificates and contract requirements handled

Who I help
Built for the businesses that carry real risk
Four kinds of business make up most of my work. If yours is on this list, the conversation starts from a shared understanding of the exposures rather than from scratch.
Trucking & Transportation
Owner operators, for-hire carriers and fleets — where liability limits, cargo wording and downtime decide whether a loss is an inconvenience or the end of the year.
- Liability, cargo and physical damage
- Fleet and unit changes handled directly
- New authorities and established carriers
Contractors & Construction
General contractors, trades and subcontractors who need coverage that satisfies the contract as well as the risk, and certificates that do not hold up the job.
- CGL and completed operations
- Tools, equipment and builder's risk
- Additional insured and certificate wording
Commercial Property Owners
Landlords, investors and owner-occupied businesses insuring buildings, contents, equipment and the income that depends on them.
- Building, contents and equipment
- Business interruption and rental income
- Hail, water and vacancy considerations
Alberta Businesses
Small and medium-sized operations that have outgrown the policy they started with, or that have never had anyone read it back to them.
- Liability and property packages
- Commercial auto and equipment
- Specialty lines where they are needed

Why Commercial Insurance Advisor
No slogans. Here is what is actually different about working with an individual commercial broker.
You deal with one broker
The person who quotes your file is the person who answers the phone at renewal, and the person who sorts out the certificate when a job is waiting on it.
Commercial is the focus
Trucking, contractors, commercial property and business insurance — not a general shop where commercial lines are a sideline.
Access to multiple insurers
As a broker with Sonic Insurance, your file goes to the markets that fit your operation rather than to a single company's underwriting box.
Plain answers about coverage
What a policy covers, what it does not, and what a contract is actually asking for — explained before you sign, not after a claim.
How it works
Three steps, no runaround
- 1
Tell me about your business
What you do, what you own, who works for you and what your contracts require. Five minutes on the phone or a form — whichever you prefer.
- 2
Review your insurance options
I take the file to the markets that fit and come back with what is available, what it covers and where the differences actually matter.
- 3
Choose the coverage that fits
You decide with the wording in front of you. Once it is bound, certificates and changes go through me directly.
Industry focus
Three industries where the detail matters most
These are the files I see most often, and where a generic package policy is most likely to leave a gap.
Trucking
Cargo limits and exclusions, physical damage values, non-trucking liability, and keeping units and drivers current on the policy. Getting these wrong is expensive at exactly the wrong moment.
Learn moreContractors
Completed operations, additional insured wording, notice of cancellation, tools and equipment, and builder's risk on projects under construction — the parts of a contract that decide whether you can start.
Learn moreCommercial Property
Replacement cost values that have kept up with construction costs, hail and water treatment, tenant improvement responsibility, and business interruption set to a realistic indemnity period.

Mansher Waraich, Commercial Insurance Broker
Commercial Insurance Advisor is my commercial practice. Commercial insurance is placed through Sonic Insurance, the Alberta brokerage I am licensed with, which is what gives your file access to more than one insurer instead of one company's appetite.
The businesses I spend most of my time with are trucking operations, contractors and commercial property owners — the kind of files where the coverage detail and the contract wording decide whether the work can go ahead. Life and living benefits are handled separately through MSW Financial, my life insurance practice.
What you get is direct access: one number, one email, and the person who placed the policy answering the question about it.

Tell me about your business
The more you can tell me up front, the fewer questions come back. Nothing here commits you to anything, and no coverage is bound by a form.
- Prefer to talk? Call 780-599-6660 — usually faster than typing.
- Have a renewal coming? Send it about 60 days out so there is time to work it.
- Certificate holding up a job? Say so and it moves to the front.
FAQ
Questions I get asked first
What kind of businesses do you work with?
Mostly trucking and transportation operations, contractors and construction businesses, and commercial property owners across Alberta — along with small and medium-sized businesses that need liability, property and commercial auto coverage.
Do you charge for a quote or a policy review?
No. Reviewing your current policy, explaining what is in it and telling you whether it is worth taking to market is part of the job. Brokers are generally compensated by the insurer through commission on placed business.
How is a broker different from buying direct from an insurer?
An insurer can only offer its own product. A broker is licensed to work with several insurers and represents you to them. Commercial policies here are placed through Sonic Insurance, the Alberta brokerage I am licensed with.
How quickly can you turn around a quote?
It depends on the complexity of the risk and how quickly the information comes together — straightforward files can move in a few business days, larger or specialized ones take longer. If a deadline is driving it, say so and I will tell you honestly whether it is achievable.
Do you only work in Edmonton?
I work with businesses across Alberta. Meetings happen at your yard, shop or office where that makes sense, and by phone or online where it does not.
Let's talk about your commercial insurance
Tell me what the business does and what is coming up. If a certificate or a renewal is driving the timeline, say so — it changes how I work the file.
