Who this policy covers

This website is operated by Mansher Waraich, Commercial Insurance Broker, trading as Commercial Insurance Advisor. Commercial insurance business is placed through Sonic Insurance; life and living benefits business is arranged through MSW Financial. Those organisations have their own privacy practices for the policies they issue and administer. This policy covers the website only.

Information you give us

When you submit the quote or contact form, the following is collected because it is needed to respond to your enquiry and, if you proceed, to approach insurers on your behalf:

• Your name and business name
• Your email address and phone number
• Your city and province
• The type of insurance you are enquiring about and any details you provide about your operation
• Your preferred contact method and time
• Anything you write in the message field

Please do not send health information, financial account numbers, government identification numbers or other sensitive information through the website form. If that information is needed, it will be collected through a secure channel later in the process.

Information collected automatically

To understand how visitors find this website and which pages are useful, the following is collected:

• Marketing campaign parameters in the web address (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term) and advertising click identifiers such as gclid and fbclid
• The page you first landed on, the page you submitted a form from, and the website that referred you
• Standard analytics information such as approximate location, device type, browser and pages viewed, collected through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager where those are enabled

Campaign and referrer information is stored in your browser (in local storage) for up to 90 days so that if you return later and then make an enquiry, the enquiry can be matched to how you originally found the site. No name, email address, phone number or business name is ever sent to Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta or any other analytics or advertising platform from this website.

• Follow Up Boss, the customer relationship management platform used to manage enquiries
• Insurers and insurance markets, where you ask us to obtain quotes on your behalf
• Sonic Insurance, the brokerage through which commercial policies are placed, and MSW Financial for life and living benefits enquiries
• Service providers that operate this website and its email and analytics infrastructure

Your information is not sold, rented or traded. Some of the service providers above store data outside Canada, which means it may be subject to the laws of the country in which it is stored.

Consent and communications

By submitting a form you consent to be contacted about your enquiry, by the method you selected. Commercial electronic messages sent to you will identify the sender and include a way to unsubscribe, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. You can withdraw consent at any time.

How long information is kept

Enquiry records are retained for as long as needed to serve you and to meet the record-keeping obligations that apply to insurance business. You can ask for your information to be deleted at any time, subject to those obligations.

Security

This website is served over HTTPS, form submissions are validated and transmitted securely, and access credentials for connected systems are held in server-side environment variables rather than in the website's code. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and information sent over the internet is sent at your own risk.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or withdraw your consent to being contacted. Requests are handled within a reasonable period.
